1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use cMe, we may collect or process the following types of information:
- Account information such as name, email address, phone number, password-related authentication data, gender, avatar, selected language, and subscription status.
- Location information used for real-time location sharing, route tracking, member status, and location history when location sharing is enabled.
- Group information such as group names, group type, invite code status, member list, display names, administrator status, and group membership.
- Preset address information such as saved place names, descriptions, coordinates, and privacy radius settings.
- App activity and technical information used to operate, secure, improve, and troubleshoot the service.
- Subscription and purchase status information used to manage VIP access and subscription-related limits.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and maintain cMe features, including:
- Showing real-time group location on the map.
- Displaying member status such as battery level, speed, direction, online status, and timestamps.
- Supporting group creation, invite codes, group management, group chat, and member controls.
- Saving preset addresses and applying privacy radius settings.
- Providing location history and route review where enabled and available.
- Managing account access, email verification, login, account recovery, and subscriptions.
- Improving app reliability, security, performance, and compatibility.
3. Location Sharing and Background Access
cMe requires location permissions to support group location sharing and route tracking. Background location permission may be required if you want cMe to continue sharing your location while the app is not open.
You can enable or disable location sharing in settings and manage sharing behavior through group controls. Device-level permissions can also be managed in your operating system settings.
4. Groups and Visibility
cMe is based on trusted groups. Members join groups using invite codes. Your location and related member status may be visible to members of groups where sharing is enabled, according to your settings and the group type.
Family, friend, special interest, and temporary groups are designed for different sharing needs. Temporary groups may be used for short-term activities such as travel, events, and outdoor coordination.
5. Privacy Radius and Preset Addresses
cMe allows users to save preset locations and set a privacy radius. These tools are designed to help reduce exposure of exact sensitive locations, such as home, school, or work, depending on group type and user settings.
6. Location History
cMe may store location history when sharing and history features are enabled. Free users have limited history access, while VIP users may access up to 15 days of location history. Users can control history-related settings in the app where available.
7. Service Providers
cMe uses third-party services to operate the app, including cloud hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, maps, notifications, ads, and in-app purchases. These services may process data as needed to provide their functions.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. Google Play indicates that cMe data is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Data Deletion
Users can delete their personal data through the in-app settings where available. If support is needed, send a deletion request from your registered email address to info@cmetech.ca so we can verify account ownership.
After deletion is confirmed, personal data associated with the account is permanently erased where technically and legally possible. Public group chat records may be anonymized and retained for integrity purposes.
10. Subscriptions
Deleting your cMe account does not automatically cancel an active app store subscription. Subscription cancellation must be managed through the app store account used for purchase.
11. Children and Families
cMe may be used by families to coordinate with children or elderly family members. Users are responsible for using the app in accordance with applicable laws and obtaining any required consent before sharing another person's location.
